Meet a #Mother - Emily Rollins
Please introduce yourself and tell us about your family.
My name is Emily and I'm Mom to three boys, ages 9, 5 and 2. Its a madhouse, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
What are three daily things you can’t live without?
I can't live without hugs from my babies, nighttime talks with the hubby or my smartphone!
If you could go back and visit yourself the year you became a mom, what would you tell yourself? What kind of encouragement or wisdom do you wish you had at that time?
If I could go back to myself as a new Mom, I would tell myself to RELAX and listen to my own instincts. I relied too much on input from outside sources in the beginning and now and I trust myself much more!
What is something you strive to be intentional about? As a mother, how do you accomplish that in your day-to-day?
It is really hard with three boys, but I try not to yell when I get frustrated with them. I quickly evaluate: are they HUNGRY, TIRED, SLEEPY... or what's the root of the problem? It helps me not get so frustrated when I UNDERSTAND. Sometimes I just have to step away!
What does your daily routine look like? Is there any one thing that you check off your list that makes your day a success?
I like to spend lots of time cuddling with the littles after breakfast. When we don't have one-on-one time, they are always much grumpier later in the day.
What has been your best #mothermoment?
I think my best moments are when we are all in the thick of play together and laughing hysterically. Don't think I could count just one!
What was the worst? How did you handle it?
I mess up ALL the time. My strategy is to treat them how I would want to be treated. I apologize and try to explain that Mommy is like any other human they might encounter - I make mistakes. But I will always try to make it better!
What is your mother motto?
Do You and Be Happy!
If you had a day to yourself how would you spend it and why?
I would love to go thrifting and shopping with any willing party!!!
If you could share one thing with our community of mothers, what would it be?
You never truly know what another person has experienced in their life, so when in doubt, BE KIND!
